In F&F Tokyo drift when they were building up the mustang did they have to overnight parts from America?

I have to say that the build montage for that Mustang was a great scene. They didn’t just throw it together and overnight have a done perfect car. The shots of them tuning and tweaking it to get it to run & handle right where well done for a movie.

IRL, McCarthy built the cars in SoCal. One of the mechanics who helped build the six Mustangs for the film was also crew for Dan Garner the Scion racer when I hung out with them at Mid-Ohio some years back. I’m bad with names and can’t recall his.

Good point. I like the first movie a lot, but the Supra really was just finished without that much real work seeming to have gone into it. When they race that 355 it sort of looks like a test run, but really it’s already been magically finished at that point.
